One of the most amazing things about weddings is when top wedding professionals come together to make dreams come true.  Vancouver’s top sustainable wedding gown designer brand Pure Magnolia has partnered with Flawless Events , Zazou Salon and Spa , and Mirror Mirror Bijoux to make five women’s wedding dreams come true!

You can participate in this beautiful dream by coming out on the night of October 2,2013 and enjoy the charity gala at the Vancouver Aquarium ! Read on for more details about this event!

The story

Pure Magnolia found five women who have gone through the YWCA Crabtree Corner and have removed themselves from the DTES and are ready to start a new sober living chapter of their life.  To applaud their efforts and to make their one final dream come true, Pure Magnolia decided to help them look and feel like a princess on their wedding day.

“A wedding is supposed to be such a special moment for the bride, and I want to make sure she feels beautiful and extremely special on her wedding day,” said Patty Nayel, designer of Pure Magnolia.

Pure Magnolia wants to do what they do best: take the old wedding gowns and upcycle them into custom wedding dresses for the women.  They will be debuting these gowns along with their 2014 collection at this intimate charity glala at the Vancouver Aquarium the evening of October 2nd, 2013.

The evening will consist of canapes, a VIP lounge (VIP Ticket Holders only), a cash bar and many more amazing perks from sponsors. VIP tickets get you a seat during the fashion show as well as a jam-packed swag bag full of items from sponsors. They will also be giving away a door-prize that will be revealed on the night of.

All proceeds from the fundraiser will go directly towards YWCA Crabtree Corner, to help with continued support to give women of the DTES an opportunity to live in sobriety and become a fit mother.

The YWCA Crabtree Corner

The YWCA Crabtree Corner is a community based program on the Downtown Eastside.  YWCA helps women and their  families improve the quality of their lives, and provides services such as safe and affordable transitional housing, parenting program, single mothers’ support groups, violence prevention program, and Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) Prevention Program.

YWCA provides a meal program for all residents and a lunch program for anyone on the DTES. They also provide free childcare for children 6 weeks to 6 years old for impoverished women in the neighbourhood.
