The winter 2016 anime adaptation of Prince of Stride: Alternative has done some solid work in doing cast promotion throughout the last few months since it’s a fairly extensive cast of supporting characters overall. Now that we’re just a month away from its debut, the official site has let loose with a new two-minute promotional video that highlights the main cast and shows off a lot of new animation. The series will premiere on AT-X on January 5th, 2016 along with several other TV networks just a little bit later that same night. As mentioned previously, this series is definitely going to be a delight for those that follow the Japanese voice actors and play the six degrees game as there’s so many here, spread across three of the schools, that it’s pretty much ridiculous. In addition to the main cast, eighteen actors were added recently for different schools that the series works with.
The series will be directed by Atsuko Ishizuka based on the overall series composition from Taku Kishimoto and character designs by Kokunen Ou.

Plot concept: The series is about an extreme form of sport known as “Stride.” It involves 6 players on a team that runs relay races in towns. The story takes place at Honan Academy where first year high school students Takeru Fujiwara and Nana Sakurai try to recruit members for their “Stride” club. They request Riku Yagami to join with the help of Takeru and Nana. Their goal is to compete and win the “End of Summer,” a top competition hosted in Japan alongside other schools.
