The art style is average, except Hiroshi suffers from some panels with body proportion problems, i.e. legs or arms looking off a little. Regardless, it isn’t a deal breaker and the women are plenty sexy and nicely varied. It is easy to tell the difference between the women in each chapter. And I especially enjoy the Chinese dress and maid cosplay. Unfortunately, this title is fully censored with private parts “whited-out”. Always a disappointment for an American release.
The translation reads well, with few grammar errors. Through much of the book the English SFX translations are smaller and alongside the original Japanese SFX. I personally prefer this method as the original Japanese SFX are an art style unto themselves, so it is nice to see them unmolested.
There are ten different stories in this collection, all with a focus on various outfits. While many of the women are office ladies, I was happy to see the inclusion of a sports themed story with volleyball players. Let’s Go To the Gym is about a coed volleyball team. The players range in age as it is a bush league, but there is one particular young girl that always listens to the older married women gossip about attractive Morinaga. She is generally shy, but that might not matter the night she stays late for extra practice with Morinaga.
There are two stories that depart from the standard “couple’s” sex theme. On Air and The Special Train both have group sex components. While The Special Train is solely focused on one female conductor and many businessmen, On Air tells the story of a female news reporter getting older. Natsuki has been a news reporter for long enough to build a big attitude, but the entertainment industry isn’t kind to women as they age. Natsuki doesn’t want to lose her job, so she quickly goes about sleeping with the men in her studio in hopes of changing their minds!
Easily the most enthusiastic girl in this book is found in Let’s Make the Nurse’s Rounds. In fact, this nurse isn’t just hot, but she is pretty much a nympho and she loves her job. Since she works the night shift, she finds it easy to slip into bed with her most attractive male patients. But can these men that are recovering in the hospital handle this nurse’s loving hand?
In Summary
Cosplay Girlfriend has a wide variety of stories with mostly vanilla sex to appeal to the largest group of hentai fans. I found most of the stories enjoyable, even if the art isn’t spectacular. There are only two stories that depart from standard couple sex and those are group sex stories. With ten different stories in this anthology, there are some fun scenarios that I can definitely imagine myself enjoying as a fantasy. So, I am fairly certain that just about every eromanga fan can find some stories to enjoy in Cosplay Girlfriend. This is an easy book to recommend to hentai fans and curious readers alike.
