As the second season of Testament of Sister New Devil continues on, we’re getting a bit closer to the second OVA for it as well. The first OVA saw release this past summer in June with the 8th volume of the series from Kashiwa Miyako. The 9th volume of the series is scheduled to land on January 26th, 2016 and Kadokawa has now put out a slightly risque version of a teaser to entice fans to get their prodrders in. Thankfully, this releases is getting done on Blu-ray and not DVD so fans can totally soak up the fanservice aspects of it. [youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ujDEP6moNs]
The original work comes from writer Tetsuto Uesu with artwork by Nekosuke Ookuma that began in 2012 and has six volumes to its name so far. This is the second anime adaptation of one of Uesu’s properties as we previously saw Aesthetica of a Rogue Hero get adapted, which was streamed and licensed in North America by FUNimation. The anime adaptation was being set up at Production IMS where was directed by Hisashi Saito based on scripts by Takao Yoshioka and character designs by Yoshihiro Watanabe.
The cast includes Yuichi Nakamura as Basara Toujou, Ayaka Asai as Mio Naruse, Sarah Emi Bridcutt as Yuki Nonaka, Kaori Fukuhara as Maria Naruse, Yuu Asakawa as Chisato Hasegawa, Keiji Fujiwara as Jin Toujou, Tomokazu Sugita as Takigawa Yahiro, Iori Nomizu as Kurumi Nonaka, Go Inoue as Takashi Hayase, Daisuke Hirakawa as Kyoichi Shiba, Seiko Yoshida as Zest and Kenjiro Tsuda as Mamoru Sakazaki.
The manga is adapted from the light novels of the same name that come from writer Tetsuo Uesu. The light novel series began in 2012 and has eight volumes out so far in Japan. The property has two manga series out there and Seven Seas has picked up the rights to the main one by Kashiwa Miyako, which began in the spring of 2013 and has two volumes released to date as it’s been serialized in Shonen Ace. Seven Seas intends to bring the first volume out in February 2016, which if the anime gets domestic licensing, will be closer to the time that that may be coming out as well.
Plot concept: The revolves around Basara Tojo, a first-year high school student who is flustered by a sudden question by his eccentric father, “Hey, didn’t you used to say you wanted a little sister?” Plus, his father announces that he is getting remarried. His father brings over two beautiful step-sisters, but then embarks on an overseas trip. However, the two sisters Mio and Maria Naruse are actually a novice devil and succubus.
