More ‘Grisaia’ Novels Getting Anime Adaptation This weekend saw the end of Le Fruit de la Grisaia with its broadcast run in Japan and simulcast ooverseas but it’s not the end of the property. The end of the episode provided a tease of two more works being adapted into anime form with The Labyrinth of Grisaia and The Eden of Grisaia. The plan is for them to debut in the spring of 2015 with a debut at the end of March with a sixty minute special to get it all rolling on the main networks and satellite channels.

Tensho directed the fall 2014 series at studio 8-Bit based on scripts by Hideyuki Kurata while Akio Watanabe provided the character designs. Sentai Filmworks licensed that series not long after its broadcast debut.

The series starred Takahiro Sakurai as Yūji Kazami, Hiroko Taguchi as Amane Suō, Ryouko Tanaka as Yumiko Sakaki, Kaori Mizuhashi as Michiru Matsushima, Tomoe Tamiyasu as Makina Irisu and Ai Shimizu as Sachi Komine.

Plot concept: Mihama Academy is less of a school and more of a prison. With a massive wall surrounding all sides, this private academy is both protected and isolated from the outside world. But while Mihama Academy may not seem appealing to your average student, it is a safe haven for those looking to hide from the various cruelties that life has dealt them. One such student is the stoic Yuji Kazami, whose closest shot at leading an ordinary high school life lies only within the walls of Mihama. But when Yuji transfers to this untraditional establishment he finds that his chance at “normal” may be further than he thought. As the first male in a school with only five female students, Yuji’s arrival threatens to disrupt the carefully crafted illusion of daily life at Mihama. And as Yuji begins to adapt to life in his new surroundings he soon learns that behind the innocent faces of his classmates hide secrets that are nearly as dark as Yuji’s own.
