Pony Canyon has put together the release plans for their summer series Minarai Diva, a show that’s definitely different from the norm since it’s a motion capture animated show with idols that runs for about an hour in length and largely just kind of rambles on and has its own particular brand of Japanese humor and entertainment. The series is getting a five volume release beginning on October 1st, 2014 with the Blu-ray releases priced at 3,500 yen each while the DVDs are priced at 2,000 yen each. Each disc will have two episodes on it and will include unreleased footage and an audio commentary track. The series is written and directed by Koutarou Ishidate with character designs by Shingo Adachi. Ishidate has a few credits to his name beyond this, including doing the series concept for gdgd Fairies and Chokkyuu Hyoudai Robot Anime: Straight Title.
Plot concept: The story follows two aspiring divas who hope to become famous through a unique brand of music.
