One of the more interesting projects that could be coming in the next few years is that of
Infinite Horizon, which is a modernized updating of The Odyssey with a new future setting. The work is a miniseries that writer Gerry Duggan and artist Phil Noto put together a few years ago and adaptation rights were put into motion for it that has a completed film and miniseries script done by Ryan Condal. Warner Bros. has picked up this package now and it has Greg Berlanti attached as a producer, along with Sarah Schechter and Lawrence Grey. Berlanti’s name is a very familiar one for comic TV fans as his production company has been handling the three shows on The CW with
Arrow and
Flash and the upcoming
Legends of Tomorrow series.
The original comic series here was a slow release one, taking five yeras for the six issues to come out that began in 2007, but it has a lot of potential for both film and TV.
Plot concept: The Soldier With No Name survived years of war only to be stranded halfway across the globe when the conflict ended. Getting home means going through the hell: escaping shipwrecks, beating a vicious opponent wearing a cycloptic combat armor, and resisting the siren’s call of a predatory society.
