A mechalossus interrupts Daijirou and his customer while they’re trying to name a new tea ceremony sweet.

With Daijirou doing good work lately in dealing with the various mechalossus attacks that have hit Kyoto, he’s now dealing with it being a more personal issue. While working to name a new recipe for the tea ceremony, we get an actual look at how a mechalossus is created right in front of Daijirou’s eyes. Naturally, with a short run time, he leaps into action pretty damn quick and stirs it into submission. It’s fun to watch how it works and how he doesn’t have a name for the move as well amid the attack because of the sweet. It’s got some really cute elements to it with the naming and wording, making for a silly moment to be sure.
In Summary:
Doamayger-D continues to delight simply because it’s unlike anything else we get. Short-form shows have to really stand out with what it does, especially a short two minute show like this where it ends up working a familiar structure on a regular basis. This stands out because of its design choices to be sure, but it also really works it as a labor of love. Daijirou’s struggles here are cute and comical as they provide a balance to what he’s fighting. It’s not a fantastic show but good golly does it charm the pants off of me every week with what it does. A right proper smiling sendup of the past.
