The Review:
Content:
McClane is now back at his guardian spirit’s apartment because… of reasons. I think. It is here he decides to have his mid-life crisis. Spirit guardian pulls him into his… magical… chest… where he sees guardian spirit’s life story, because the audience surely cares about this. We learn that guardian spirit wanted to be a dancer but, alas, it was not meant to be. In a weirdly out of place environmental message, guardian spirit was killed by a plastic can holder.
The show then cuts back to the present where anime daughter is pointing at the TV which shows that chaos is ensuing outside. McClane reaches an epiphany about what he must do from this point forward and guardian spirit whisks McClane and anime daughter to the scene of the ongoing crimes. The episode ends, as all the previous ones have, with a confusing and out of context clip of the next episode.
In Summary:
This is sadly the end of the line for these reviews. This episode has some nice character development. I would say watch this episode if you enjoy a good mixture of comedy and the occasional poignant moment. If asked on my feelings on the series as a whole it is this: Fin Punch might not be the greatest series to ever rise from the imaginations of humanity but it is still a decently enjoyable experience. It isn’t a terribly long watch and is visually distinct from much of what is in the English language market so I would say it is worth at least sampling.
