I Can’t Understand What My Husband is Saying 2nd Thread Episode #02 Anime Review Physical compatibility goes only so far.

What They Say:
Kaoru is an OL you can find anywhere, serious and works diligently, but her husband is a super otaku and more-or-less a NEET. She is caught up in one of her husband’s whims one day or the subject of his concerns another, but the two are so close that it’s embarrassing to even watch them!

With some cute references along the way, the series this time around delves into the problem of compatibility between our leads. They certainly are different but similar in a lot of ways, but as Kaoru’s friend says, physical compatibility will last for only so long. So she tries to figure out just how compatible they are beyond that, which leads to some hilarious references to other shows through Sailor Moon and Saint Seiya to talk about their various aspects, including astrological. The two have some fun moments in this form, but we also see Kaoru going to others for guidance and thoughts, which is nice. But it always comes back to Kaoru and Hajime in the end, and seeing the two of them talk, or even just spend time together, helps to reinforce why these two are definitely right for each other beyond any sort of process of figuring it out. They simply are.

In Summary:
A lot of the appeal of this show is seeing the way these two are different from each other but are still totally into each other. Worry crops up in every relationship, often from outside forces, so seeing that touched upon a bit here with Kaoru being uncertain because of the compatibility factor is pretty nicely done within the time frame. The reference side of the show is definitely cute and has a lot of fun with things and definitely plays it up more to his side than hers, but I like that we get beyond just these two briefly in a couple of places and that helps expand the world a bit and enhance things nicely. It’s a fun show still and this episode definitely adds to it properly.
