Welcome to this week’s edition of Star Wars Thursday, a celebration of all things fun, wild, and wacky in the Star Wars universe! With all the news about the newest Disney Princess, I decided it was time to devote another post to my all-time favorite Princess. Carrie Fisher must be getting deluged with questions about the possibility of returning in the upcoming Star Wars movies. The Mary Sue posted a snippet of an interview from The Talk where she jokes about the possibility of “Old Leia”. Carrie sure has a sharp sense of humor, just like Leia.

We won’t get to see Carrie Fisher as a young Leia learning how to use the Force in the movies, but I’m excited about the prospect of new comics on the horizon that where she will be in the spotlight. Dark Horse will release comics starting in January that are set in the era of the original trilogy. Sweet!

I probably can’t justify purchasing another Leia t-shirt, right? Seriously, someone may need to stop me. This one is perfect for capturing her spirit in the wake of the Disney Princess news.
Finally, here are two amazing paintings by James Hance. Both are available at his website as prints. James painted young Leia this week as a mash up with Penny from the Rescuers. He even did part of the painting live on Ustream. The X-Wing pilot has been available for a while but is a limited edition print.
