With the way Crunchyroll is now on the PS3, Roku and other areas of expansion, the acquisition of Bottom Biting Bug certainly makes sense. Billed by the service as a kid-friendly animated series from Japan, it’s the kind of thing that’ll turn away your hardcore fan but could draw in family members and younger siblings that would get a blast out of it, especially since it’s in Japanese and can challenge their reading skills. With my kids having grown up with subtitles on for everything on DVD or Blu-ray, believe me, they’re fast readers at this point. The series is set to launch on Saturday, October 20 at 4:25 pm Pacific Time, with new episodes added each week at the same time and will be available to premium and free members in North America, South America, United Kingdom, Ireland, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Denmark, Finland, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, and Spain.

Plot Concept: The series features Bottom Biting Bug XVIII, voiced by singer and voice actress Tomoko Kaneda, who loves to sing and dance more than anything else in the world. When bitten by a Bottom Biting Bug, people become more cheerful and energetic, even those who were depressed or had little confidence. However, even the Bottom Biting Bug makes mistakes, and this story will feature many scenes from everyday life that will continue to evolve through the sort of humor that kids love.
