While the main manga series has ended for Working!!, known as Wagnaria!! in its US release, and a spinoff is underway, most of the excitement is about the new anime series that was announced which should bring us to the conclusion of the main series. That show, which got the green light awhile ago, is set for the summer 2015 anime series. We’re expecting to hear more in the coming weeks as part of Anime Japan 2015, but prior to that the official site has updated with a new key visual of some of the cast, which is definitely pretty nice. The series is set to be directed by Yumi Kamakura based on scripts by Takao Yoshioka with Shingo Adachi serving as both character designer and chief animation director. It’s expected that the main cast will be returning for this season as well.
The anime adaptation has been released in North America by NIS America, but the manga itself has not seen release in this country.
Plot concept: Set in a family restaurant in Hokkaido, the northern prefecture of Japan, 16-year-old high school student Souta Takanashi works part-time along with his strange co-workers: Popura Taneshima, a high school girl who’s a year older than Souta, yet easily mistaken for an elementary/middle schooler, and Kyoko Shirafuji, the 28-year old store manager who doesn’t bother to do any work at all.
